Role Summary:

The Business Development team is the engine for growth inside Telmar and has a key role to play in supporting the broader company objectives. These objectives are:

  1. Improve our Business Operating System
  2. Strengthen the Market Position
  3. Grow Revenue

New business development will primarily have a direct impact on the third company objective and will also support the improvement of the business operating system as well as the strengthening of the market position.

Using your knowledge of the market, contacts within the industry and your commercial and negotiating skills you will identify new sales opportunities to deliver annual sales targets and support and develop the business through a phase of accelerated growth.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have a solid understanding of SaaS sales processes, be a strong problem solver and able to communicate effectively across teams and regions.


Key responsibilities include:

Revenue growth: Develop and close new business across media owners, advertising agencies and client direct to use the Telmar suite of products

Manage the pipeline: Manage the pipeline and execute on the strategic plan to achieve revenue goals 

Build long-lasting relationships: Build and maintain strong and long-lasting relationships with clients 

Main Responsibilities and Tasks:

In line with the company objectives, your main responsibilities and tasks will include the following:

  • Own and maintain your CRM and your client contracts from start to finish
  • Track and evaluate the applicable business metrics in your territory and develop
  • strategies to continuously improve these metrics with the involvement of your team
  • Effectively communicate the value of Telmar to prospective clients through proposals, presentations and initial demonstrations of the products and services
  • Coordinate the prospecting of key global accounts 
  • Understand the competitive landscape and competitive differentiators in the media market
  • Work collaboratively with other internal teams (Technology, Product and Marketing) to share competitor and client insights to further develop Telmar products and services
  • Stay up to date with the latest best practices
  • Execute on the strategic plan to achieve revenue goals such as monthly and quarterly revenue targets by developing and closing new business across media owners, advertising agencies and client direct 
  • Collaborate with Client Success teams to identify and close cross-selling and up-selling opportunities to clients
  • Responsible for prospecting, scheduling and conducting client meetings
  • Respond to RFI/RFPs and prepare tailored responses to win new business
  • Represent Telmar at trade shows/expos etc. as required

Person Specification:

Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • 6+ years of experience
  • 4+ years SaaS sales experience 
  • AdTech or MarTech industry experience with experience of selling to media owners, advertising agencies and client direct
    • Experience of programmatic advertising
  • Regional experience in North America, experience in LATAM would be advantageous
    • Experience working with sales automation tools, e.g. SalesForce
  • Knowledge of big data analysis
  • Fluency in Spanish would be advantageous
