Role Summary

In the role of Cyber Security Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that both companies prosper with security “built-in”. You will help deliver and monitor services to customers with Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability at the heart of what we do and ensure that our products, systems, and services maintain industry-standard security, based on the family of ISO27001 and NIST standards and with a view to Telmar and Splashlight achieving accreditation in the medium term.

As part of the Technology Group responsible for all company systems and infrastructure, you will report directly to and work closely with the Global Director of Information Security. You will be a crucial part of the security team collaborating with a multidisciplinary group of engineers and development staff, support personnel and will ensure technical controls are in place are being monitored. You will own the “risk surface” and support the implementation of controls and remediations where required, promoting security by design in the process.

S/he will have responsibility for managing vulnerability measures and tools. You will be responsible for the operation of the SOC (Security Operations Centre) and will ensure and support the technical team in implementing recommendations and remediations. You will maintain your own internal penetration methodology and use external agency support to mitigate against cyber threats.

S/he will work with the Global Director of Information Security and stakeholders to ensure that policies, procedures, and controls are in place and operate and support internal auditing; help administer and govern internal compliance with policies and processes. You will help maintain a continuous improvement security mindset delivered through education and good servant leadership.

Your support will be invaluable for both companies in the pursuit of accreditation to one or more of the Industry's Security Standards.

Professional Skills

  • Forward-thinking and mindful of emerging IS & Cyber Security risks and the changing threat landscape facing global companies.
  • A confident Security practitioner and have a trusted position within the company and with customers.
  • Experience in operating an effective security strategy to protect both business and customer assets and information in a SaaS-based service provider and/or large organisation with multiple endpoints.
  • Practical knowledge and understanding of AWS platforms/security (with certification), Active Directory (AD), Network Security (Cloudflare, WAF), GitHub, OWASP, Salesforce, G-Suite.
  • Experience with Atlassian Confluence & Jira and be able to author policy and procedures.
  • Technical/Information Security Degree or equivalent experience plus any of the following
  • Up to date with security, toolsets, technology, and industry practice
  • Ability to work effectively in a distributed working environment
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
